The subtitle is blinking

I just made a PAL DVD using DVD maestro and for the subtitle, I use subtitle workshop and MaestroSBT to convert the ssa files into son files. The problem is when I burnt it into DVD and previewed it in my TV, the subtitle blink.
Is that normal? Or I made a mistake? Thanks in advance for the explanation.

It's what's commonly called flicker due to the CRT displaying interlaced video.
Maybe you can try to convert your file to srt and use SubtitleCreator to add it to your DVD because it has a built-in filter that reduces this effect. Check and see if it's better or not.
Or maybe there's a similar option in DVD maestro.
