You could use the same software that you used to mux the subtitles INTO the DivX-compressed .AVI... [/Color]Can you let me know how to do this? I have used DivXMux to mux in my subs, but there are no options for demuxing I would know of.

This is very annoying as TMPGEnc's DivX author only imports separate subtitles (srt or divx) and cannot deal with muxed subs. Of course you can re-rip, but that requires extra work (rip, OCR, spellcheck etc).

A search in the forum suggests there are no tools for demuxing subs from a .divx file - any hint would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi!

1) Although I'm not personally familiar with "DivXMux, the homesite of DivXMuxGUI indicates that it's capable of Remux an existing DivX filewhich, presumably would include de-muxing an existing subtitle stream.

2) I'm not aware of any program named "TMPGenc DivX Author". Perhaps you emant one of the several similarly named TMPGEnc (Pegasys) programs?

3) Of course, for your stated need, you probably already have the original subtitle stream that you used to create the multiplexed DivX-compressed .AVI...
