I'm making a rip of some of my Star Trek movie DVDs. On the special edition movies, the Okudas provide graphical commentaries that point out certain things throughout the movies.
I rip the DVD's vobs with DVD Decryptor and I use VobSub Rip to make an IDX/Sub combo file. I plan on encoding the movie with x264, using Ogg audio and combining together into a Matroska container.
When I mux the subtitles with video, the graphic commentary subtitles appear almost totally clear, whereas the normal dialogue subtitles appear normally.
I know that Excel Saga had subtitles that were similar in nature as the ones in the Star Trek movies (just for those who are more experienced with ANime than star trek).
It appears the problem is simply that of opacity. I cannot figure out why the subtitles are appearing almost clear.
