Not really. AACS 1.0 and 2.0 are basically the same, with 2.0 mandating an extra item or two that were optional in 1.0. (That's my understanding, anyway.) Sure, the begging for more VUKs is a bit annoying, if understandable. That's no reason to force everybody into another thread, though. A mod can lay the hammer down if things get out-of-hand.

It simply doesn't matter.
While there are far more resemblances than differences between BD and UHD or vice-versa, they are still two different products and one may be tricked thinking he has the keys for the BD when they are for the UHD (today, this is not really an issue, with so few titles existing in UHD, but think about tomorrow).

But this is only my opinion.

I think you could make an argument to split UHD keys into their own thread. However, I don't think it makes sense. Think about how the keys will be used. The apps that can take advantage of these keys can also take advantage of regular BD keys. We are only going to want one KeyDB.cfg file with all keys in it whether BD or UHD-BD.

Finally passed my first 5 days to be able to post. I've used the cfg file to successfully rip Salt and The Amazing Spiderman 2. Looking for help with the following:

I see Deadpool in the list of AACS 2.0 volume keys in the cfg but can't rip my copy for some reason.

As others have stated, I'd like to help with these volume keys if possible as there are a few discs I have that I can't rip:
Planet Earth 2
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children
Wonder Woman
Baby Driver

uhd titles even in same region may have different keys. this is a problem even for deuhd. fact of life. i have several titles on the vuk list that wont rip because of this. oh well.

until a solution exists that can figure it out for you based on your disc this is what you will have to live with.

nevertheless between vuk and deuhd i am quite content!

hi i just wanted to ask i bought the be16nu50 because i saw it was recommended on the deuhd site under uhd friendly drives.i can get the drive to read the disc contents but however when i tried adding some keys for hacksaw ridge in make Mkv the program fails to successfully open the 4k disc,is there something i'm missing? is there a way to know if ive used the keys properly?

This thread is for posting keys, it's not really for program support. You should probably post your question on the MakeMKV forums, not here.

Absolutely, I would gladly contribute to the cause. I have nearly 200 UHD BDs so I could definitely help out.
would do so too. I recently jumped to about 100 UHD discs...
Obviously keys would be ideal if the method to determine them was public, but unfortunately since it's not and while we're waiting, I know it would be super helpful if you folks with large collections could submit AACS dumps generated by MakeMKV as per the instructions on their forums, since doing so would help expand MakeMKV's UHD support.

In the context of UHD discs, UHD is short for "Ultra HD Blu-ray" - so UHDs are actually still considered Blu-ray discs. I think it's fine to keep them in the same thread, and I agree with the point made by BigPines.

Now if I was a mod, I would split all this off-topic discussion into a UHD Ripping discussion thread (as per the "post questions in the forum" note in this thread title!), and split the keys into a new UHD keys thread, but I'm not, so... the mods will do it if they want to.

AFAIK there is no public method at this time. We can only wait for keys to be posted here or elsewhere.

Also remember as per the thread title, this thread is not for discussion/questions! Start a new thread if you have questions.

Seems all the VUKs at this time for UHD discs are up to MKB v60. I wonder if he/she has been unable to get keys from v61? That is, unfortunately, what the majority of films are currently protected with.

Fortunately in my case DeUHD has many of those discs covered.

I likely have the same disk as you, and can't rip it. Volume labels matching is not sufficient to identify the disc. You need to take the SHA1 of the AACS\Unit_Key_RO.inf file on the disc - this will match up with the first column in the KEYDB.cfg that konst is posting. For example, given all of the VUKs konst has posted, there are three entries for OBLIVIONUHD_NA, one with 0x95C2AAB2BC6F840C460FF1D95D999535E487ABCF, one with 0xA64FF70E82B76C33253274B7F4F4DC011CC187A3, and one with 0x89DED8816F7732DF87E3B3F07CB68D0AC2ECB034. But my disc (and hopefully yours - if there aren't even more versions!) is 0xf37582a3889116e0b2a287951320a1227fa982c8 (not case sensitive). If you've recorded the SHA1 of all of your discs you haven't ripped yet, you'll be able to know immediately when konst releases more VUKs if they'll work with your disc, without needing to put them in and guess.

Since it seems that those who maintained the file in the past (sometimes via a database) are no longer active, I have created an updated file so that newcomers don't have to go through multiple forum pages:

For various reasons I have not touched the content of the original file, instead I have chosen to simply append the latest keys to the end of the file, as a section starting with:

You'll need to match the Hash value of your disc with the Hash values on the 1st column of the keys file. The title itself doesn't matter. For example, if you look at The Revenant, there are 3 or 4 keys with different Hash values (left most column).

It does work. It's just problematic. I keep it as an "if all else fails" option. (I'm also on FW 1.02, by the way. I don't know if that matters.)

Certified UHD drives do NOT work with the leaked VUK keys. Reason being, an AACS 1.0 host certificate is required for them to work. Certified drives have AACS 2.0 certs.

Ahh ok to answer both your questions:

1) If you use a tool like RedFox's AnyDV HD, the Status tab will show you the disc's Hash value along with a message saying it can't decrypt it due to the lack of correct keys.

2) You can't use a drive that is certified to play Ultra 4K Blu-Ray because they support AACS 2.0 you'll need to use an older UHD Friendly drive.

2b) If you have an older UHD Friendly drive, you'll need to check the Firmware to make sure it hasn't been update to a newer one that blocks this exploit. If it has, you may be able to re-flash it with an older firmware; but that's a different topic.

Sorry to hear that, I just downloaded it, tested the archive and then extracted it and I had no problems.

I am chomping at the bit for konsts to drop some more MKB v61 based VUKs. Especially Guardians of the Galaxy v2 and Pirate Dead Men Tell No Tales. I want to compare the audio vs the DeUHD rips. I am getting audio dropouts on those two titles at the moment.

My bad. I thought you were talking in general. Should've known it was about VUKs, which, yes, won't work on "official" drives, at least for now. (Who knows what tricks will come up in the future.)

Some titels are up to 4 times in the list. That means: There could be one film perhaps for germ in two diffrent versions. If you want to know exactly if it's the right titel, you need the hash bin and the EAN code.
Hash bin you can see for example in AnyDVD status window, when you try to rip your media.
On most UHD titels you can find all languages for USA and Europe. On "Inferno 4K" there are 13 languages to chose and a lot more subs:

Hopefully Konsts gets hooked up with Redfox or DVDFab and can sell or get a royalty on his/her method for getting the VUK's for the 4K discs. Would be great to incorporate it into official software. Plus a little competition for DeUHD wouldn't hurt.

See, this is great. Would be nice if there was a user-contributable list/database for disc hashes with comprehensive version info, such as barcode and region bought (even without regional restrictions it's useful to know where discs have been purchased). At least for the time being it would allow for easier identification of releases for people check if the discs they may be thinking of buying are decryptable for rips as-yet.

It's in the title: post keys here, post questions in the forum

Please could you kindly create a new thread if you want to discuss other stuff, make lists of titles, create a database, post zips of keys or anything else? This is not a support thread or a general discussion thread.

For example create a thread for "UHD Bluray ripping" and discuss all that stuff there. Feel free to post here a link to that thread once you have created it.

I am the originator and primary maintainer of that list. It started out as a way to document DeUHD support, but once the VUKs began to leak I added them. Usually anytime a set leaks I run through and validate which SHA1 values match and add anything that isn't presently on the list. I try to keep it up to date and accurate as possible.
