Subs out of sync [Archive]

I've ripped some subtitles from a DVD of mine, so I could use them together with the DVDRip. But they are completely out of sync, I've ripped in 25FPS which is the same as the DVD.

How can I correct them?

I've located the problem, the subtitles starts way too late, how can i easily move all timezone (.srt)

You could also use Subtitle Workshop. Open the srt-file and adjust timecodes with ctrl+d.

Actually the problem can be better solved by SubResync, change the time of the first line and the rest will be shifted accordingly. SubResync support idx/sub as well as srt files.

Hey people, I'll use this thread to ask a question about fansubbing:

What do you guys strife for? If the subtitles don't match up exactly with the sound, should the subtitles appear slightly before or after the first word is spoken?

I like it as synced as possible. You don't want the subs to tell you what a person is saying before its said just as you dont want to get confused about who said what if the subs show up shortly after.

My preference is to see subtitles appear just a little bit before the spoken word, and extend a few 10ths of a second after the dialogue line has finished.

When I use an audio track to adjust the subtitles I will use the exact instant when the audio appears as the starting time.

i've ripped a sub from a dvd of mine using subrip, in bitmap format (.son)

but it's on a diferent fps... in the first 15' it's sync, on the end of the movie it's about 2' late...

what am I doing wrong?

tried ripping in 29,97 and 30 fps...

dvd maestro says the movie is in 29,97, and demux without pulldown, so, the subs should be ripped in 30 fps, right???

Just give 25fps a try

NTSC 29 fps
PAL 25 fps
