Hi guys,
I'm learning using dvd maestro right now. And from the manual, I assume that if I want to make a mandarin subtitle, I have to use individual subtitles, that means I have to add one by one. Any idea how to make mandarin subtitle using script files?
AFAIK dvd maestro only support stl and son files. Thanks in advance.

Use sub2stl to convert srt files to stl files. For idx+sub files, use SubResync to convert it to son files.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot, man.
I just downloaded sub2stl and try to convert srt files to stl files. First I used subtitle workshop to convert the ssa into srt format. Then I converted it into stl files. I also changed the font type into Nsimsun(it's a chinese font). But the subtitles didn't show correctly, it showed strange characters rather than mandarin character.
Any suggestions how to fix the problem? FYI, I didn't rip the mandarin subtitle from DVD, I wrote it myself. Thanks a lot.
Best regards,

Open your stl file with notepad and see if you can see proper Chinese characters. Also verify the subtitles you have imported to the DVD Maestro by double clicking it. Do you see proper Chinese characters there? Do the font type shown correctly? And one more thing, does your computer system area and language code set correctly in the control panel?(In the advance tab)
Cheers!

I opened the stl files and I can't the proper Chinese. Also tried to use maestrosbt, the same thing happened. I just installed the chinese GB2312 from control panel. Still doesn't work. Do you know why?

Have you select a proper language (in this case, Chinese PRC) for unicode program in the advance tab of the area and language unit of the control panel? You must have a proper stl before you can import into DVD Maestro. Change and reboot and convert your stl file again.
