BSPlayer crashes on subtitle

Hallo!

I muxed a matroska file with mkvmerge. It contains one XVID video stream, two AC3 audio streams and a VobSub subtitle stream. It is no problem to playback the file with BSPlayer 2.1, until the player come to the position of the first subtitle. Here BSPlayer crashes and shows this message:
AppName: bsplayer.exe AppVer: 2.1.1.940 ModName: ntdll.dll

Does anybody know what´s the problem in this case?

The problem is you use BSPlayer. And I don't believe this is BSPlayer help forums.

If you want a suggestion for good players, try MPC or ZoomPlayer. You will need to find vsfilter and register it to have subtitles displayed.

Mmmh, I registered the vsfilter.dll and the same problem occurs, even with ZoomPlayer:

AppName: zplayer.exe AppVer: 4.5.1.0 ModName: xvidcore.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000548c0

I know this isn´t the right place, but where can I find information to solve this problem?

VLC plays the movie without problems...

The problem lies in your xvid install in this case. Either install a new binary from koepi (http://www.koepi.org/), or completely uninstall xvid and install ffdshow and let ffdshow decode xvid.

The last codec I installed, was the XVID 1.1.2 from koepi. And I use ffdshow, not with xvid, but in general.

Then enable xvid decoding in ffdshow (in the ffdshow video decoder configuration -> Codecs - > set xvid = libavcodec). This should take over xvid decoding. See if it still crashes after this.

I had a similar problem with BSPlayer crashing on me when reaching the first subtitles. Couldnt solve it other then reverting to version 2.10, all newer versions (as of this date) do have this issue.

I am using BSPlayer 1.36.825 and when something crashes with subtitles i am trying to test it with Media Player Classic and then i am changing options in "filter management" (like advanced graph...) or in "Video" (vmr9 versus overlay mixer). Usually it helps. By the way, i am using vsfilter 2.37. Is there any newer binary versions of vsfilter (betas or not official builds)?
