I got Sony D-VE7000S (Canadian version) and when I play Divx file with subtitle, it only shows english parts or punctuations, but don't show any korean parts. I'm guessing its becuase it can't recognize korean language...which is wierd... ~_~ is there anyway I can show any language other than English as subtitle?

Hello,
Your problem may come from the authoring rather than from your hardware player.
Subtitles are written as bitmap on DVD.
Whatever the language or you can also put some comics balloons or any other image it works.
Do you use DVD or DivX here ?

What format are the subs? Is it embedded in the DivX file?

I thought you ware speaking of DVD.
I don't have much knowloedge in DivX and I don't know if there is a standard subtitle format.
I think .SRT is the most spread format.
Maybe you can try to put the subtitles in the same folder, next to the video and with the same name :
\myvideo1.avi
\myvideo1.srt
Check if your player supports subtitles for DivX and which format.
