Hi there, newbie here
I've aquired the entire X-files DVD sets (9 seasons, over 200 episodes) which has a lot of nice, clear and crisp subtitles in various languages. Imagine my surprise when i couldn't find the nordic (swedish, finnish, danish and swedish) langauges represented. I'm swedish and of course I can watch films without swedish subtitles, but since I'm a hardcore fan of the x-files, I'd like to have subtitles for this series. It also has a lot of technical terms that need to be translated.
So, I tried translating them in subtitle workshop (Urusoft), then sync them in Subsync and finally burn them in Vobsub, I think. (It might have been Virtualdub though, I can't remember). It works, but it takes a godawful while (2 days for me to translate a 40 minutes episode + adjust the time frame) . This show has over 200 episodes and I'll be an old woman if I continue this til I'm done. There are 2 things that makes it complicated for me:
- Translation
- The time adjusting and placing the subtitles in sync with the audio (I've noticed that if i don't do this in subtitle workshop, the subtitles will be all over the place), which takes a lot longer time than the translation.
Is there any easier way for me or will I just have to forget about it? When I'm done I'll simply just burn them onto DVD+R's because I can't be arsed to do anything fancy with them. So I just need to know an easier way to create these subtitles from scratch.
Sorry about the long post and my crappy english, but I hope you get the picture. Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.
