Hi!

Have you played your DVD rip (before using DVD2AVI), to see if it contains audio all the way through the movie?

Yes it does have audio through the whole movie. That's why I can't figure out why it's doing that. It even does it on the alternate tracks.

Hey there people.In response to all that I have read on here,I never had a problem with this movie as I used DVD shrink first and then went to DVD Decyrpter to burn and not a thought about any errors.well thats my 2 bobs worth.

i updated everything from your link and now i am able to back up everything. but when its time to burn it on a disk, i get an error message telling me that it could not reallocate the files. i have dvd shrink set up to my nero dvd burner.

the only way for me to back it on a disk is to open nero myself and burn it from there. this works fine, but do you have any idea to rectify this error message i mentioned above?

Hi!

As you've already discovered, one way to circumvent this occasional problem with the DVDShrink/NERO interface is to use NERO manually (rather than automatically from within DVD Shrink).
Another alternative would be to use DVD Shrink to create an .ISO image file and use either DVD Decrypter or IMGBurn automatically instead of NERO...

Well you might not have a problem when you are backing up the whole disc, but I rarely want the whole disc. Most of the time I'm just interested in the main movie. When I use DVDFab Decrypter I only keep the VOB files that contain the main movie. When I run those VOB's through DVD2AVI the resulting AC3 files are incomplete/blank after about 30 minutes.

Well dont know if this is the best place for this but here goes. I have been able to successfully rip the movie. When I noticed i was getting errors with DVD Decryptor, I used DVDFab to get the whole disc. After that I used DVDShrink to remove all but the movie. My goal is not to have a shrink version but a 1400 XVID. I then used dvd decryptor on the ISO that I made from the shrinked files. Using this I loaded it into autogk and let it run. After it finnished I skipped through the movie. The A/V sync is fine for the first 1/4 or so of the movie then gets just slightly out of sync. I had problems with flightplan being out of sync right from the start, but removing parts of the first section helped with that.

So second try..I used DVD Decryptor and the PCGEdit with the plugin. I figured that since when I ripped the video from that first setup it still had the errors in VTS_25 or 26 dont remember. This time I did that whole thing to remove the last part. I followed the same process as above. This time the audio in the avi was WAY out of sync, it wasnt even in the ballpark of being right.

When I mount these as images, they play just fine with PowerDVD. But Like I said I want them as AVIs.

Has anyone tried to convert this to an AVI, and had problems? Or am I the only one?

But I would doubt that the plugin produced anything other than perfectly compliant files. I suspect it is your conversion.

Hi!Has anyone tried to convert this to an AVI, and had problems? Or am I the only one?I had no problem creating a perfectly synched DivX-compressed .AVI by ripping the full disc using DVD95Copy(pro) and converting with MPEGMediator.

If you perform a search of these forums, you'll find many posts indicating synch problems when using AutoGK with recent "ARccOS" (such as "Underworld Evolution") and "RipGuard" copy protected DVDs...

I feel badly for all who have had problems ripping this DVD. I ran mine through AnyDVD, and Shrink. Perfect rip, first time. I realize this is a commercial app, but there is a free trial some might wish to consider.

From the RipIt4Me (http://www.digital-digest.com/software/RipIt4Me.html) guide:In some cases (still not very clear) the sound is desynchronized when playing the main title on a standalone. (Take care, this desynchronization is generally not perceptible when played with a software player on a PC!) By removing the unnecessary cells, the sound desynchronization should be fixed. If you are going to use AutoGK (or something like that), you need to remove the protected cells from the IFOs and VOBs because of a "bug" in DGindex, which causes mis-sync in the audio/video.
Remove all the ARccOS cells with the remove crap phase of the plugin and run FixVTS (www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS).

I am not at all sure of where the bug lies, however.

Ok I might have posted this in the wrong forum but I just did a search for Underworld Evolution and it brought up this thread so this is where I posted. This is what I'm trying to do and the problem that I am having. I could not rip this DVD with DVD Decryptor so I used DVDFab Decryptor. I only want the main movie. I usually use DVD2AVI to produce a .d2v file that I can run in CCE. The problem is the .ac3 file that is produced when I run it through DVD2AVI is only about 30 minutes long for some reason. Doesn't make any sense because the audio plays fine when I open up the .vob files on my computer. Well I tried to use vstrip to strip the audio out. It extracted the audio fine but Scenarist would not accept the file. I don't use vstrip very often, I could have messed up somewhere but I followed the guide. So I decided to try something else. I burned the .vob files to a DVD-rw and used DVD Decryptor to extract the .ac3 file. It looked like it was going to work but the audio was about 20 minutes too short. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions???

Ok I read the thread and from what I gathered they weren't exactly having the same problem I was but I tried to rip again using a newer version of DVDFab Decrypter and it still didn't work. It's really strange the way this is working. The vob plays the audio but I can't extract it for some reason. Any other thoughts?

Try using "RipIt4Me" instead...
