Hi all,
I'm creating subtitles from scratch with Subtitle Workshop, saving to .ssa and then going to MaestroSBT, muxing with MuxMan.
Nowhere in these programs can I see an option for increasing character spacing. I need it because with regular fonts (or bold), the outline 'grows' too much and eats all the space between letters, which IMO looks bad. And with 'thin' fonts (i.e. Arial Narrow) it's even worse - I can't stand looking at that for more than a minute. :)
Also, on PAL, subtitles made with regular fonts (i.e. Arial, Tahoma) seem too 'fat' or 'squished' to me (regardless of the outline) - or is it just my imagination?
Maybe it's my workflow? I know Subtitle Creator has some options for character spacing/stretching, but I can't use it yet - I have problems with installation of NET framework (sorting it slowly), and of course, waiting for the new version. :D
Besides, on another machine, I had problems with importing unicode .ssa into SC - maybe the new version will address this? (I deleted the files so can't file a proper bug report).
So, any ideas would be appreciated - different programs, methods, etc. (I also have colour pallete problems, but have found some valuable threads in the forum, so I'll leave that for later). :cool:
