hi
the targa dp-5100x is a nice little hardware dvd/divx xvid player it supports subtitles but i am not sure which format to use for this.

my problem is i need to find a way of getting my dvd's with polish subtitles.

I used autogk to create a divx vrsion of one of my films and produced a seperate bitmap subtitle stream and copying this sub file and idx file with the avi it worked well on the targa.

next i burnt a cd with a microdvd format subfile but that was problematic it didnt show polish letters correctly and the text was too small.

looks like bitmap titles are the way to go but i am confused as to the format and what to use to convert to bitmap

or does anyone have any better idea's?

You'll need a firmware with 1250 code page for displaying correct polish subtitles.
You can read some info here (http://board.softpedia.com/index.php?showtopic=2585) and here. (http://board.softpedia.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=465&view=findpost&p=17958) People in that forum said that the firmware from LG made by br0max can be used in your player. Make some search in that forum.

enjoy,
