I just recently encoded a video using xvid and I encountered this problem where if I used VirtualDubMod to mux in a subtitle file (srt format) into a matroska container, the video will not run under Windows Media Player (WMP) at all. WMP opens but there is just a blank black screen and the progress indicator on the seek bar does not even move. Everything works fine until I mux in the subtitles.
I am wondering if the problem is due to the video being in anamorphic format, because when I tested the subtitle out by muxing it into another video of non-anamorphic format, it works properly.
Can anybody tell me how I can fix this so that it will run with subtitles? I would be glad to give any extra details if am not giving enough to answer this question.
