So simple...but impossible?

Hello all ,

i have a simple (or so it seems) problem but i cant find the answer.
I have read the majority of the relevant posts in here (because i am not lazy) and still cannot find an answer.

So ,if there is someone kind enough to help me ,please do.

Here is the situation :

I have a divx movie and the relevant subtitle file in .srt or .sub format.

Now i would like to see the movie at the tv through my dvd player which supports divx.

So i burn both files in a cd.
The movie shows quite fine at the tv but the subtitles are small.

From what i read in here .srt files are not possible to change font size. Is it so? If yes ,how could i make the subtitles to show bigger on the tv screen ?

Should i burn the movie as an vcd disc and join the subtitle file?
(If this is the answer ,i have not search yet how to do this in the forums )

If there is a firmware update for your player, apply it. If not, request one ;). Until then, you can burn the subs into the video itself, using the VirtualDub filter.

now i guess that i will have to find the relative posts or (evenbetter) the relative guide in doom9 on how to do that.

In case you know the direct link to the relative guide pls post it 4 me here.
It seems that in the internet the information exists but sometimes the difficult part is to find it :)

Nope. If you have the subs in .srt format you can use the TextSub plugin to burn the subs in.

It's good to know that one can use something other than the (builtin) VirtualDub filter - which is limited to .SSA format...

You may convert the .srt to .xsub and then mux .xsub
with DivXmux tool without re-encoding the video.

IMO I don't think it's so bad..
after editing in SRT, I've always used SRT to SSA Conversor, a nice tool that allows to change font size, color, etc.. clean and fast.
