Adding subtitles to a DVD that doesn't have any subtitles

Hi! I got a japanese anime dvd just bought from japan that doesnt contain any kind os subs. however, i have the english subs for this movie, but it's in a srt. I've already looked a lot of tutorials that explains how to add subtitles to a dvd that has an IFO which already had original subtitles. but how can i add those subs to my dvd if the original ifo does not have any sub information?

It's essentially the same technique... YOu have to mux them into the vob (as in the guides) and then you have to change the IFOs to reflect the fact that there's now a new subpic stream available (and setup the CLUT for it). This can easily be done in PGCEdit...
Simply follow any of the guides, then when they come to adjusting the IFOs, we can help you further if you run into trouble...

thanks man, but the point is that I don't have a collor palete information on my info. what can i do about this? the only program i think really add that information to the subpic is the maestro sbt, but i can't use it now. thanks a lot!

You could use the "SubResync.exe" tool in VOBSub to convert the subtitle file to .SSA format, which, if I remember correctly, will include the color pallette information (The .SSA file is a readable text file)...

Jacoh, every PGC has a color palette. If you open your DVD with PgcEdit, and double-click the movie PGC (the longest one presumably), you'll see a color palette. All the colors might be the same, but the palette is here, and all you need to do is change it.
The easiest way is to open the muxed DVD with DVDSubEdit, and click on each of the pixels to assign a specific tile from the color palette, and shift-click the color to set a specific color.
In short: you don't need to add anything. The palette is already there, you just have to change the colors in it...

In PGCDemux select "Create a PGC VOB".
Load the resulted VOB in Subtitle Workshop and sync with your SRT file. For setting the first and latest spoken subtitle line you can use Ctrl+B in subtitle Workshop. Save the new .srt file.
Load the saved srt file in SubtitleCreator, set the position, size and colors like in the screenshots.
