Precise subtitle splitting?

Hi all,

i would like to know if there is a program that can cut at exact points of text based subs, and ofcourse adjust the time values accordingly, just by entering values like hh/mm/ss/xx. the source is teletext from dvb streams. i can cut the video and audio with any program (which will output a text file with the exact cut points), but the subs need to be cut and adjusted

i took a look at subtitle workshop. excellent program, but doesnt seem to do this :(

My recollection of Subtitle Workshops splitting capabilities is that it is very powerful.

Maybe you could describe what you are doing better? Theres a good possibility that you are going about it all wrong. I mean why aren't you splitting the subtitles based on the video length?
