convert divx movie with subtitles into dvd

i have a movie in divx format in japanese, i went and downloaded the english subtitles for it. when i watch it on windows media player i see the movie and the subtitles, I want to burn the movie with the subtitles into a dvd, how do I go about this. the file with the subtitles had 3 files *.sub and *.idx and *.sfv. i put these files in the same folder as the divx file. I use the following progs to make dvd's: nero vision, roxio, tmpgenc, cce sp.

Since it's a movie, I presume you ripped it from a DVD.

Doesn't your original, purchased DVD already contain English subtitles? If so, just use DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, or similar, to rip a copy...

the dvd i ripped didnt have subtitles.
