I am STILL awaiting a subtitle format that is more intelligently implemented than the current srt files etc.
What is annoying me the most is when you have a set of ripped subs and the spoken language of the movie is the same as the subtitles. But SOME parts of the movie have different spoken languages which require subtitles for you to understand the. Why? Because some people do not wish to view the movie with subtitles on ALL the way through the movie. But DO wish to view the subtitles for those parts when another language not native to the viewers understanding is spoken!
Sure you can edit the srt files. But it's a pain. Plus you would have to view the movie first to know where those parts are to edit in or out!
It would be nice to have a 'tag' in a srt file for instance that allows a splitter like Haali to pick those out and then display just those subtitles between those tags. This could be an added option in Haali. Of course those who originally ripped it would need to have the tags put in. I am wondering if there would be an easier way to do this from the original DVD .sub files?
