Hi

I have a strange problem here. Some movies don't want to play if there is a subtitle (SRT) file in the same folder with same name (use to have them like this for automatic subtitle detection). I have tried on several players like BSPlayer, Windows Media 10, Winamp and no luck.

If I deactivate directvobsub these movies plays fine and the subs are shown by BsPlayer without a problem.

The strange thing is that this is happening with some movies and not all of them. Other movies play fine with the .SRTs. I have copied the SRT subs from a movie that doesn't work, rename them and they play fine on a movie that I know works so it is not the SRT files.

I am using last Subrip 1.50 for making the SRTs and saved them as ANSI / LATIN xx (the default that shows first when you open the save as dialog).

All my movies are XVID or DIVX.

Do you have any idea what can be happening here? I could just uninstall directvobsub and use BSPLayer, but I like to have the option of subs in Windows Media and others, and I have not noticed this problem in the past when directbobsub had worked ok.

Thanks for any help.

Looks to me like a file name problem. What if you rename both the movie and the subtitles?
