Can't change sub colour?

Doing a back-up and when I use IfoEdit the subtitle colour does not change to what it should be IE: basically white. Instead it changes from green to black with a grey outline. I have tried to use the "remap font colours" in SubtitleCreator 1.9.2 but this does not work either. That is if, what that option is suppossed to do?

I have done this many times before without any issues, but I know less to nothing about subs so after spending too many hours trying to fix it, I hope someone here can throw me a line :(

My guess is that the problem is caused by the presence of multiple PGCs in the VTS containing the main movie. Try this: Load the original DVD in PgcEdit and locate the main movie PGC. Export the colour lookup table (CLUT) for that PGC. Load the newly muxed/authored DVD in PgcEdit and import the CLUT.

BTW, I don't understand the process you describe. Are you doing something to the subtitles after VSRip? Why else would you rip the subtitles and put it back together with the rest of the movie?

Like TomSem outlined, the easiest way of manipulating/adding DVD subtitles seems to be this:

1) Demux subtitles, audio and video and save celltimes.txt, using PgcDemux
2) Manipulate the SUP file or create a new SUP file, using SubtitleCreator
3) Mux/reauthor, using MuxMan
4) Optional: Copy the newly muxed main movie PGC into the original DVD structure, using VobBlanker
5) If needed, copy the subtitle colours, using PgcEdit

Thanks TomSem and CoNS for your suggestions I have tried them and have finally got an almost perfect solution.

With the original subs I could not change the colour at all, including in SubtitleCreator, the text would still stay black. I ended up ripping the subs with SubRip to a .srt file then loaded it into SubtitleCreator and changed the colour to the default and made a .sup file. I don't understand why the original sub file would not change to the correct colour but the new one would though?

Now the only problem I have is with the character [ it will not load into SubtitleCreator. I had to change it to {. But in SubtitleCreator it does use [. Does anyone know of a find and replace function in SubtitleCreator?

But what ever comes after the [ character (when using SubtitleCreator to add the [ character) is blanked out when the .srt file is reloaded into SubtitleCreator (on that line only). The .srt still loads though, but when [ is added in a text file SubtitleCreator gives an error message.

You need to convert your srt to ansi using notepad-save-as

Don't know why you can't change color with SubtitleCreator ?? You forgot to click "All" button ??

Can't believe how dumb I am there is an option in SubtitleCreator that removes hearing impaired text which includes these characters [ ] :rolleyes:
