That's not just any extra 3-non character bytes. That's UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_Order_Mark)). If other applications claim to support UTF such as sabbu, then sabbu needs to be able to handle BOM-included UTF-8 files. Aegisub is not doing anything wrong. Or, at best, Aegisub should have an option to save UTF-8 script with or without BOM.

File -> Export... and set charset to whatever you like. Or since 1.09, there's an option in config.dat called "save charset". Figuring out what it does is left as an exercise to the reader (hint: RTFM).

I reported that the PayPal button on the Aegisub page was invisible for me on firefox,
but it was not your problem but on my side, and it's now fixed.
Altho the server-side workaround is possible too
by changing...

Something that's been bothering me everytime I try to use the software, besides the selection issues I highlighted before: There's no in-table editing. I hate that stupid textbox. I know it's easier to code a plain table and a textbox, but the constant click table, click textbox, edit, click table, click textbox, etc. to edit drives me insane. Ideally all values (ie, time, style, etc) should be editable, but just text would go a long way toward being easier to use.

Also, ctrl-z after applying styles doesn't work.

Try harder if you want to troll. Most of those 25MB are spellchecker dictionaries/thesauri, program translations and debugging symbols. If you want an un-bloated version, get the portable one, which is a 5MB download since it doesn't include anything but the needed DLL's and an English spellchecker dictionary.

Well 2.1.8 portable version is 20MB.

the portable version includes spellcheck dictionaries for fifteen languages (18MB uncompressed), thesauruses for six languages (32MB uncompressed) and debugging symbols (15MB uncompressed) now, don't ask me why jfs decided to include those
