Splitting subtitle files in 3

OK, this is my first post. I see this is great community, and there's a lots of help from everyone, so after searching and trying some splitting tools, and failing :( i turned for help this way.

I have .avi file, that contains 3 files merged. I didn't make avi myself so i have only this 700 mb avi, and subtitle for this avi, for all 3 files. I cut avi in parts, everything is fine, synch is great. Then I used SubAdjust to cut subtitle, but it only cuts it in two parts. First is OK, but the second one contains both 2nd and 3rt part. Sometimes, i cut that second part into two parts again and everything is fine, but that happends rarely.


So my question is: Is there any subtitle splitter that can split sub into 3 or maybe more files?

Hi Bocca,
when I read your message I opened Subtitle Workshop to look for splitting 1 subtitle in 3 files. Yes, SW can split one subtitle in 3 or more files and it can even cut your subtitle automatically if u choose your .avi files to each part of the subtitle. On this page you can download SW (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Other-VIDEO-Tools/Subtitle-Workshop.shtml), then open your subtitle file, click on Tools - Split subtitle - Advanced. Thats all.

OK, I used Subtitle Workshop, and 90% of splittings are done very well, but there are some files that after splitting have only first part good, and the others are pretty much late. Any ideas how to fix this?

I dont know why those 10% are done badly, but if this happens you can always set some delay.

OK, I found what was the problem. When i cut movie in 3 pieces i cut it at non-keyframe parts and beginning was't where it supposed to be by subtitle time! When i cut off that "junk" at beginning, and recompressed it, subtitle fit perfectly!!!
