I have followed the instructions here on how to add subtitles to my rips. All worked fine (great site by the way) but now, when I use Media Player Classic on full screen mode the subtitles double. There is one bigger version ontop of the smaller size one. What am I doing wrong? I use DirectVobSub to manage the subtitles. They are in .srt format.

Oh and DirectVobSub doesn't even work for me on Windows Media Player, I just get this black screen.

Thanks

I can reproduce this when using ffdshow and MPC (I don't use DirectVobSub since a long time) by it would happen in both windowed and fullscreen mode.
Probably you are getting subtitles from both MPC and maybe ffdshow (as you said DirectVobSub isn't working). You should leave just one of then enabled.
I personally prefer ffdshow to render subtitles, the timing seems better and also it doesn't require MPC to use an specific video output mode, and last but not least, it has the nice feature to add a letterbox frame to widescreen movies, so the subtitles can be shown below (or above) the movie area.
MPC subtitles can be disabled in "Options->Playback" unchecking "Auto-load subtitles". Another option is just change the Video output (can be a good options when VMR7/9 is not the fatest mode).
