How can I add *.srt into Xvid encoded Avi file?

Without Re- encode Xvid Codec from Avi file, how can I merge substitle file into my original Xvid-encoded File?

Any Ideas?

yes, you probably have to use another container like mkv or ogm instead of avi. you'll be able to mux srt into avi but the subtitle might not be playable. when you say "merge" and no reencode i suppose you mean soft subs.
