Hi!
I have an idx+sub subtitle file which cannot be converted to a text file.
I would like to increase the duration of the subtitles. Is there a way to modify the files themselves or to tell DirectVobSub to show the subtitles for a longer time?

AFAIK everry idx+sub can be converted to a text file. SubResync will do it, if you have the fonts required.
I would like to increase the duration of the subtitles.
This you can do editing manually the idx file.

Well, thanks for the response!
Unfortunately, that does not help me... Here is the reason I cannot convert them:
They are in Japanese. Some of them are Kanji with little Hiraganas above them. At least, I think it would be very complicated to do so, and it would be much easier if there was a way to simply increase the duration.
The reason I want to use these is that I recently started learning Japanese, and this would be a very good way to become more adapt at reading and understanding it.

hello,
I once wrote a program to do this. PM me and I'll send you a copy. You will need the files in SON + BMP format (output from SubRip).
cheers
