Corrupt AVI Header...why???

I've been using GKnot for a long time now and while this doesn't seem to be a huge problem it's a rather annoying one.

I backup DVDs now to DVD+R discs leaving me room for very high bitrates as well as keeping AC3 or DTS audio. I love it.

I'm having some issues however with corrupt AVI headers at times. It doesn't happen every time...but many. I follow the same procedures with GKnot every time.

Sometimes when I check my final AVI with GSpot it tells me that there's a "Corrupt AVI Header." When I click for more information it says "This is an invalid AVI file due to corruption of the data in the header. This is a serious problem, and this file is not likely to be playable. Details: While processing chunk /RIFF:AVI, found bad length value 2129745108 at file offse 0x00002804."

It only registers the AVI being 350MB in size when it's actually 4.34GB in size and it DOES play just fine when I open it up in any media player.

The nagging part comes in when it seems that for all of these with bad headers I burn 1 or 2 coasters before it will finally take. Also...will damaged headers effect the playability of these files in Divx Certified DVD players?

Any information on why this is happening and how I can fix it would be awsome.

I had this messages, to, and my AVIs play fine.
I think, GSpot has an internal problem with AVIs greater than 4 GB. Take the size of your AVI, subtract 4 GB (4.194.304 KB or 4096 MB), and you will have the result GSpot shows.
4,34 GB = 4.444,16 MB.
4.444,16 MB - 4096 MB = 348,16 MB. That's it!
