Avisynth 2.5 and Anime

Hi,

I would like to start off by saying sorry for posting this question up, but i wanted the chance to ask people with experience in avisynth 2.5 and anime.

I just upgraded to avisynth 2.5 and im a suffer of those crappy pal anime dvds that everyone hates so much. I have gone over the basics and learned better ways of ripping the dvds and encoding in dvd2avi from the guides.

But where i lack experience is the steps after, i have tried using FeildDeinterlace in avisynth with defult settings, but still get some black lines in the scenes. I know that the anime is 4:3 aspect ratio, interlaced and the normal pal resolution which is 720x576 if i remember right.

I would like to ask for any information on good fliters to use with anime and deinterlacing in Avisynth, i would like to know more about resize and cropping. I tried reading a few guides on it but couldnt make sense of it that much.

I want to encode to Nandub avi, but i dont really know much about the sbc settings and what they can do. However everyone i know keeps telling me to go xvid becuase its so good, but i still want to go with nandub.

I know that this isnt exactly the ideal question to ask, that a lot of people might just ignore this and be on their way to another post, i know that no dvd can be played back on the computer in divv than on the actual dvd. But i hope i can get some more information and help with what and what not to do.

For those people who are offended by this message, i am sorry. But i know those what not to do things i was just talking about, this is probally one of them.

If you want proper help, ask about a specific problem. For example, post a link to a clip or some screenshots, give the script you tried, and explain what your problem is. Nobody is going stop their own work just to write a thesis for you, when there are extensive guides and related threads that you can read. Give one problem at a time with a good explanation and you will certainly get the help you seek.

I used a program that spits Vob Files up and have a 200 meg clip of the vob, i uploaded that to a friend on cable and i might be able to get him to put it on his ftp.

If i can, would you guys be able to have a look at the vob, and let me know about any things you guys notice about the problems with it and how to get the best quality for it.

Just do it, you don't have to ask first! But the smaller the VOB the more people will try to help. Make it as small as possible while still demonstrating the problem.
