Xvid and very dirty anime - very nice

Well I've tried Xvid before (Sept's stable build from umaniac's site) and I didn't get good results. Well with YV12 coming and Xvid being the only codec supporting it, I decided to try Xvid again. I'm glad I did.

I'm just making random frame comparison from a avi made by Divx5 and Divx and Xvid outputs are very similar. There are some differences but I doubt I recognize them with each frame moving at 24fps.

Also, Xvid filesize is 17mb less than Divx5 so that's all good as I'm aiming for 3 episodes/CD.

I'll test it again tonight. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks to the developers (Koepi and Nic and others)

Have you tried using custom MPEG quant matricies? The TMPGenc CG matrix seems to behave well with cartoon content.
