CRC errors while encoding audio => MP2 file too short

Hi guys,

I've been on a rip-n-burn rampage lately, thanks to my new XP1800... But now I've encountered a new problem, I've never seen before. The English audio stream of "Good morning Vietnam" comes out too short. (89.5 MB compared to 159 MB of the Spanish stream) I've tried it again (from scratch, including ripping the entire movie etc.) but again the same problem. I can't tell whether the ac3 files were correct, since I (due to lack of HD-space) always have to uncheck the "dont save any files" box. I'll probably do a encode again, with the box checked though, just to get the info.

Can anybody help? What's this CRC error thing?


Like I said, Imma rip again, saving the ac3 file this time, maybe that'll bring more light into my encoding-darkness ...

Yo DSPguru,

somehow your latest release didn't work for me (I probably made a mistake somewhere), so I just decided to dl version 1.0.6.3 of SVCD (BeSweet 1.11) and start all over again. 5 minutes ago, BeSweet finished the English stream, and VIOLA! it's 159 MB large, just what it's supposed to be... I guess it works now. If not... I'll be back.

Edit: I just relaized that (despite the accurate size of the mp2 file) some CRC errors occurred in the English stream. (5 channels) Imma have to check whether that has any serious impact.

so, I just finished burning the 3 CD's and everything works fine... guess I'll have to keep 2 or 3 versions of SVCD on my hd...
