MSI Geforce4 Ti 4600 TV-in
Hi all. Today i wan't to try how this TV in works for the first time.
By reading some threads here i'm sure to use VDub as capture program. But i've still some Questions. - Which capture driver should i use? - How does it's work to capture also sound? (use soundcard as well or does it come through the input connector) - Can i tell VDub the size to capture? (e.g.: 720x556) - Is it possible to encode DivX on the fly? That's it. Hope someone can help. Thx, chris. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Hi chris !
>- Which capture driver should i use? NVidia WDM capture driver. Get it from www.nvidia.com There is no other capture driver for your card. Also Virtual Dub will refuse to work with your GeForce because itīs VfW (Video for Windows) based and not WDM based. Use either the WDM to VfW wrapper (donīt ask me where to find and how to use it) or use Virtual VCR as capture tool. >- How does it's work to capture also sound? >(use soundcard as well or does it come through the input connector) Sound card is needed for recording sound. Plug your cable into the line in of your sound card and select it as source in your sound mixer. >- Can i tell VDub the size to capture? (e.g.: 720x556) Yes but the WDM is very limited. Iīm using a MSI GeForce 4Ti4400 VTR and I capture mostly 720x576. >- Is it possible to encode DivX on the fly? Yes, but the results are very low quality. I have had somewhat good results with DivX5.02 with the following settings: 1 Pass bitrate mode Lite source preprocessing 1400 kBit bitrate Min quantizer: 2 Max quantizer: 5-6 352x288 as resolution Donīt expect more than "cheap VHS VCR" quality. Straight DivX also needs a good source like digital satellite or digital cable. -D$ |

>> Darksoul71: I use Win2k SP2, maybe that's why. I realized that the wrapper was automaticaly installed with my GeForce when I tried to follow the guide http://www.virtualdub.org/docs_vfwwdm which is supposed to explain how to install the wrapper under Win2k; every modification it explains was already done in my registry.
Sorry. |
