BeSweet encoding plugin for Nero7 AAC channel mapping workaround

bse_Nero7WA.dll

Usage:
-dimzon( -dllname bse_Nero7WA.dll <options>) where options are 100% compatible with -bsn switch options
use -6chnew for 5.1 encoding

please check: is 5.1 channel mapping ok now?

-6chnew outputs the only channel mapping allowed in the aac specs for 5.1 (when being fed with the right input, eg ac3)
and that is C, L, R, SL, SR, LFE

So the new dimzon plugin is not necessary for "-6chnew"? Everything okay with the Nero DLL´s?

No! BeSweet performs 5.1->stereo downmix if "-6chnew" is not specified

what if some doesnt want 6ch output from a 6ch input? i dont see why its a problem to define that you want 6ch output

Has anyone else noticed v7 turning out much lower bitrates (vs. v6) given equivalent settings:

v6 HQ, LC, Stereo, VBR Streaming 161kbps 1210KB
v7 HQ, LC, Stereo, VBR Streaming 77kbps 589KB

v6 HQ, LC, Stereo, ABR 160 158kbps 1186KB
v7 HQ, LC, Stereo, ABR 160 122kbps 923KB

Unfortunately I don't see the difference when using HE though. In fact it's just the opposite bitrate and file size increase compared to the older v6 series.

@ziw0d0: I deleted your attachments, since it seems you used other image hosting (which is the preferred way to post images). If this was a mistake, please let me know.

FYI their channel mapping in 5.1 AAC in recode was already incorrect when opening an .avs file (ie broken in Nero 6). I had already previously discussed this with whatsisname and they had acknowledged the bug.

It should give the ordening L, R, C, LFE, SL, SR (WAVE-EX). More precisely any audio plugin (MPASource, NicAudio) is expected to decode the audio and return it using the ordening above. AviSynth itself won't change the ordening.

Dunno about BeSweet, I could never make it encode using AAC (I find that program notoriously difficult to use, and I never know exactly what it's doing.

Using recode to encode 5.1 avis and AC3 used correct mapping.

I also used SoundTrax and the Nero ROM "Encode Audio" thing to encode a "Left, Right, Centre..." wav, and they map fine. May be different with a WAV through AVS.

FYI, the AVS would play correctly mapped by itself, nero would switch the channel mapping.
