Hi there!
I have a lot of music videos in Quicktime .mov format on enhanced Audio CDs that I'd like to put on a VCD or SVCD.
The first step is of course to convert those .mov to .mpg
I've used Quicktime PRO to export the .mov to .avi, then converted the .avi to .mpg with TMPGEnc. Sometimes the export fails - I think it runs out of free disk space. Thats only happened a few times though.I've got about 3GB free on my 10GB partition. (gotta clear out those MP3s!)
I have also used the QTReader plugin for TMPGEnc - this is much faster than exporting to .avi first.
Exporting to .avi first usually results in a larger .mpg file than the direct QTReader+TMPGEnc version. I've also noticed quality of the avi to mpg file is often not great.
Is there another (better?) way to do this or am I doing it right with the QTReader plugin in TMPGEnc?
Anyone got an opinion on the best way to do this while maintaining good picture quality and reasonable file size?

Do a search, I posted the same question 2 weeks ago and got good responses.

Search on Quicktime to -or- quicktime conversion
