Not keeping DTSHD 7.1 when previously did
I have it set to output to MKV under alternative. I have kept my settings the same, but all of a sudden my back up of Thor 2 is not keeping the DTSHD 7.1. All other BLurays the audio says
8 / 6 channel unkown / 1536 bitrate lossless / lossy... have had no problems backing up many movies. When I play the m2ts file it says 8 / 6.. but the REMUX only says 6....DTSHD... not sure why?? Any suggestions... |

According to the meta file, the entire track was extracted without stripping the HD portion. If not you would see "down-to-dts" as a part of the demux line. Your log (post #5) shows that it wasn't reencoded, so the AVS file wasn't used. That means that if it was HD -- it would remain HD. Are you sure the track that you're keeping is 7.1? It sure doesn't look like it.

I don't think this is a BD-RB bug or anything jdobbs can fix.
This same problem has been posted about other programs that create mkv. For example, on the MakeMKV forum: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6074 and http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8267 The 7.1 audio should still be present, but some software will report it as 5.1 in the mkv. I don't know if this is a mkv bug or if not all software can read the correct audio channels in mkv. Last edited by Video Dude; 30th September 2014 at 00:19. |

I tested it on my system and all 7.1 lighted up...wow... nice call.. weird that all other rips are detecting/reporting properly
using a different PLS I was able to get the audio correct, but not video. It has the testing noise/sound setup, then the movie with sound, but no video....however going into mediainfo shows the 8/6 DTSMA like it should...hmmm Last edited by BlayzeX; 30th September 2014 at 04:03. |
