Sony + Memorex

Is this a know problem using Memorex DVDs on a Sony DVD player that supports DVD+R, DVD-R? Whenever I burn a movie on a Memorex Printable DVD+R, it won't play on either my Sony DVD Player or my Player/Recorder. Am I missing something?

That shouldn't be a problem.

Try burning at a lower speed - perhaps one-half of the indicated maximum burn speed...

Tried that, burned at the lowest I could, 4x. They still won't recognize them. Tried a maxell DVD-RW, and that worked, that's why I asked about Memorex. I don't know where to go from here.

DVD-RWs have more reflectivity than do DVD+R and DVD-R, making the rewriteables more like commercial, pressed DVD-ROMs.

Your drive may be beginning to fail or might benefit from running a cleaning disc on it. Maxell makes a DVD cleaning disc that sells for about $10US...
