currectly its only work with yuv=0, yuv=2 or 4 give the same garbled output. Does force pbo only work with yuv=2? |

MPUI.2008-05-25.Full-Package.zip
I've uploaded a new test build of my installer, incorporating the latest UltraModern UI update:
http://mplayer.somestuff.org/beta/MP...ll-Package.zip Now the language dialog will remember your selection and it will appear every time you run the installer.

Question: Does MPlayer use any method of "queuing" frames, like ffdshow and all those DirectShow renderers do ???
If yes, how to display the number queued frames? If not, are there any plans to implement it?

I think RVM has a build with fontconfig enabeld...
If you use my installer, please try Start > Programs > MPlayer for Windows > Tools > Set File Associations

Recommended renderer is now "gl:yuv=2:force-pbo:ati-hack" for all users with OpenGL 2.0 capable hardware. You can enable this by selecting "Use OpenGL renderer" during setup. Furthermore the new MPlayer builds finally come with the "-volume" patch included.

I found a possible bug in MPlayer:
I got an AVI file (captured with a digicam) that makes MPlayer crash immediately. The video format is MJPEG. Audio is not present, although MPlayer seems to detect an "ADPCM" stream. Sample file is here: crash_sample.7z This is what MPlayer puts out, reproduced with several builds from various sources: Code:

@carnage_pl
1. Does your CPU support all the extensions? (MMX, MMX2, SSE and SSE2) 2. What happens if you use "gl" or "directx" renderer?

And what happens with "gl" renderer only, without "force-pbo" or "ati-hack" ???

with gl only works but very slowly. Is cause of that may be old drivers for mobile version of my graphic card?
edit: ok I know what casues that. Old drivers. I used 8.5 modded and everything works. But I won't use it because it breaks DXVA. Last edited by carnage_pl; 27th May 2008 at 21:40. |

That's what "force-pbo" is supposed to fix. It seems "ati-hack" is also required for some ATI cards.
Always try latest drivers first...

At least the latest Catalyst drivers seem to work more or less okay, but still special workarounds are needed ("ati-hack"). In your case I can only recommend to either use the modded drivers or to stick with DirectX renderer .... [EDIT] From what I see on the AMD/ATI page, there is "ATI Catalyst™ 8.5" as well as "ATI Catalyst™ Mobility 8.5" available. So using the latest (Mobility) Catalyst driver package should support your "mobile" card.

I have another problem with the new installer.
While in the Complete installation it installs flawlessly, when I select custom installation, to uncheck the "set file assosiations" box and "Start Menu folders", the installer crashes the moment the extraction begins "The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0x0000000". the memory could not be read. " message appears Both in the Full and Light package. Another time it gave a ntdll.dll error and only once the Custom installation in the light package worked correctly. Has to do with the AMD Athlon Processor? |

And you also select "Do not create shortcuts" on the startmenu page ??? Seems to work 100% fine here. And no, this should no happen. With no type of CPU. If the installer crashes like that, this would indicate a bug in NSIS and/or UMUI and there's not much I can do Can you give some more system info please? And did you check the stability of your machine with Prim95 and/or Memtest86+ ???
