how to split AVI files... ?

Hi if you are reading this thx I am new to the ripping scene and I am using GordianKnot (the latest version) and I am very very impressed with its ease of use and quality...
anyways on to my point.. I really would like to have a movie on two disks but I am having problems splitting the 1300mb avi's into two seperate movies.. I have been trying to do this after the movie is made. There is a setting in GordianKnot which specifies 2 cds and I was hoping this meant it would output two avi files of 700 mb approximately but instead (as you know I am sure) it gives me one 1400 mb file (approx). Anyways just wanted to know if there was an easy way to split them up or whatever? Thx a lot.

Hi-Go find Doom9's Virtual Dub Guide in the Guides area-there's a section in it that explains how to split .avis. It's real easy.
