When backing up dvds and playing them on computer they have no sound but work fine in dvd player (they have sound). I have tried windows media player with mpeg2 codec and even with dvd decoder i have no sound I have checked audio controls nothing muted computer still makes sound with other things (ex. can play mp3s, midi, and cds). Did a search on forums and couldnt find anything I am hoping someone can help.

I figured it out after a lot of searching..

There is a software checker for WMP10 to set your default video decoder called MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP VIDEO DECODER CHECKUP UTILITY, this tells WMP what to use for video decoding, most that you download are not compatible but, if you have powerDVD the codec that it uses is compatible with WMP all you have to do is use this software to set it as your default and VOLIA sound and video in WMP10
