Piping mplayer to AviSynth
Hello forum!
I have failed to crossfade videos in mplayer and mencoder. Therefore... 1) How do I pipe videos from mplayer to AviSynth and back? 2) If (1) is not possible: How can I make AviSynth accept the rich amount of filetypes as mencoder (or ffmpeg)? Thanks in advance. Thanks Zarxrax for pointing to FFMS2. Last edited by Sixten; 13th May 2011 at 21:44. |

Hi Sixten!
Welcome to doom9. As Zarxrax pointed out, ffms2 is probably your best option. The other possibility is to use DirectShow - via DirectShowSource() or DSS2(). Provided you have the necessary DirectShow filters installed, you should be able to open almost anything. It can be a lot of hassle though. Derek
