Avidemux sound track

mp3 is the only audio format common to avidemux and Goldwave. Avidemux seems to accept only some mp3 files, not others. (all from the same source - mp4 -> Goldwave -> save as mp3, I think LAME.)

Can anybody tell me what constraints avidemux places on mp3 files?

Problem solved.

Apparently Avidemux can only "probe" the first 256 MB of the file, to check the audio is kosher. If the metadata is bigger than this, usually because of a large artwork file ("cover"), the file will be rejected. So, anyone with this problem: delete the artwork.
