capturing from vhs to dvd casued some odd results

Hello,

I tried to do a capture from a PAL VHS player. the capture was done in Virtual Dub using more or less default settings.

I then tried to do en encode in CCE using the DVD profile.

Finally i used dvd lab pro to author this to a dvd. The dvd played fine on a computer but when playing it back on the TV - well there was something wrong with the picture - it wasn't pleasant to look at. Kinda hard to describe, but almost like watching an analog monitor at very low frequency. - Flickery image might be the word for it.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Propably wrong field order. You're likely capturing TFF (TopFieldFirst) and didn't tell CCE to encode it as such. DVD defaults to BFF (BottomFieldFirst).
