Subtitle not in sync for multi-file source

Sorry. missed out some more info:

I have enabled Movie-only backup option. Alternate output is not enabled.

I think I got confirmation on something I've always wanted to ask: can the user-set settings of LAV filters (outside of BD-RB) interfere with a a backup? I completed a backup (I've deleted it) of a Blu-Ray with 1080i/25fps content and everything played in slow motion in the backup. This also happens with "Preview this item" in BD-RB.

In the LAV Video Configuration, I have Software Deinterlacing/YADIF enabled. If I disable it, the Preview plays fine in BD-RB with this Blu-Ray and I assume a new backup will also work fine.

Can BD-RB ignore the LAV user-settings or do the LAV Filters always need to be set in a specific way?

Much slower speed, if you prefer. No smoking involved and I still have the BD anyway so it's easily reproduced.

That really IS odd... JD or one of the other experts here will likely know why...

Just created another backup and indeed it works perfectly with YADIF disabled in the LAV settings. The problem is obviously with the interlaced videos. Also note that when YADIF is enabled on the 25p/30p setting, the problem also doesn't appear. My original setting was 50p/60p, and that's what causes trouble.

Was there a hidden option that would force BD-RB to make BDMV + SSIF directory structure for 3D back-ups? My memory's kinda hazy on that.

Only for movie-only backups. But, as I said, it's likely something other than in-mux -- since that is a standard backup that is also present on commercial discs. I suspect you are blaming the wrong problem.

There are lots of ways you can create an issue in a backup. Using filters is a good example. I don't see how deinterlacing would do it -- but if combined with certain settings maybe... of possibly it is showing up as 1080i/25p (which is illegal)?

I'd need an example and your settings to test it.

Can you post your settings (the contents of the BDREBUILDER.INI file)?

Note this in your log, it's probably the root of the problem:

- Resize: 1080p to 720p enabled
- Convert: 1280x720, 50.000fps, 21,882 frames

Oh ok, sorry. I now see in the preview that the 1080p/24 files do not display video speed issues (with the same LAV/YADIF setting enabled) but the audio goes out of sync. The 1080i/25 ones are worse, as described.

1920x2160i output from 1080i source

I've not posted before, but recently experiencing some issues, all 1080i source related (both 23.97 & 29.97fps content). This started happening with v0.50.19, which prompted a switch to v0.50.23 but with same results. The output video is 1920x2160i, fps is unchanged, but audio is then out of sync with video (audio plays faster, I think). I'm using all suggested ffdshow settings. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

1. 1920x2160i ? Is it a 3D source? If so, how could it have been interlaced?
2. Audio plays faster? I don't see how that is even possible -- it is never adjusted.

1. Not a 3D source; titles I'm having trouble with are nature documentaries from BBC or (US) PBS Nature. I really don't know how the output becomes interlaced (goes from 1920x1080i 16:9, verified with BDInfo, VLC player etc, to 1920x2160i 8:9). As you can see from my settings, I use almost all default settings except choosing a custom target size and whether to convert DTS to DD. I've tried turning deinterlacer off, but output is exactly the same.

2. By audio playing faster, I mean relative to the video image, after BD-RB processing. The audio becomes out of sync with video very quickly when starting from the beginning.

I just noticed there is the "IVTC with 3:2 pulldown" option in setup menu, which I've not tried before, should I try it to see what the output looks like? Thanks.

I'm definitely confused. BD-RB hasn't even an option to possibly output 1920x2160i.

Are you using a Blu-Ray disc as your source, or are you importing first?

I've tried processing from a ripped BD image to HDD and from a main movie only BD file structure extracted from ripped BD image (using clownBD), but not direct from BD. In both cases I've tried, the results are the same.

So, I misspoke in my earlier post. The BD-RB processed video playback is faster than the audio, not the other way around. Sorry.

And, thinking about it more, the IVTC with 3:2 pulldown option won't help since I'm not looking to convert into a "film". Apologize for the brain fart. Thanks.
