I also tough of a crappy data left over in some mysterious 'AppData/User/Roam/x264...' path but i cannot find where (if any) x264 would store temporary config data.

Anyone have any clue on this ?

If handbrake installs any codecs, or changes the priorities of codecs, this is most likely your issue.

Start all over again with the uninstall first of the three programs jdobbs recommends, Avisynth, haali, and ffdshow. Reboot. install those three programs again.
Unzip a fresh BD-RB, "Look in the BD-RB folder. There is a .BAT file called "REG_MSCOMCTL.BAT" -- simply right click onit and run it as administrator."
Then, if that does not work, right clicking on BD_Rebuilder.EXE and select "Run as Administrator"

thanks for the info. .07 has worked great for my panasonic bd-60. Was concerned about the newest revision in terms of compatibilty with default settings ie "normal"

Just a point for clarification. Default settings in BD-RB aren't set to "normal" -- you're confusing BD-RB defaults with those in X264. BD-RB v0.32.07 overrides the X264 default, and will not even allow you to set it to "normal" because it would be non-standard for Blu-Ray. It is always either "none" or "strict" depending upon the setting of the B_PYRAMID hidden parameter.

Rarely does X264 ever crash. If it appears to be crashing in BD-RB -- you can pretty much assume that it is a problem with the CODEC that is frame-serving to it -- and that's almost always because some other package has "fiddled" with your software versions or settings.

Hi !

Okay, I'm completely confused. There seems to be a disagreement on this forum as to what the file structure should be regarding the correct DVD Rebuilder output. As I have said, my CERTIFICATE folder contains my BDMV Folder along with my BACKUP folder and a bunch of little files.

When I try to drag over THE_DARK_KNIGHT folder in its entirety IMGBurn won't accept it!

BTW.. below is the report frrom IMGBurn, when it first failed when DVD Rebuilder instructed it to write .

Okay - Always a nice idea - 'Redo from start'. It works although the REG_MSCOMCTL.BAT file wouldn't execute complaining of a missing DLL but at least, i'm pass the point where x264 would crash.. Let you know in 5 hours in a half if everything went fine = )

There should be 2 separate folders BDMV and Certificate. The BDMV folder should not repeat should not be inside the Certificate folder . (If there isn't a Certificate folder Imgburn will add it for you). Just drag the BDMV folder over if there is a Certificate folder in the same location it(imgburn) will move it over for you. Whoops, got my versions mixed up. .08 is the one that sets b-pyramid.

There's no confusion. If the BDMV is in your CERTIFICATE folder you probably dragged it there by mistake. It happens. But BDMV and CERTIFICATE should both be at the same level. If BD-RB created them, they are in a folder named after the disc.

FYI, did a full backup of Natural Born Killers (Unrated) with 0.32.08, with "B_PYRAMID=1" added in the .ini file. Resulting disc plays fine in PS3 Slim and Oppo BDP-83.

I am having problems with "full backup" mode. The few discs I have tried consistently fail with the same message "error in attempt to multiplex," but when I do "movie only" mode it works fine. For the movie CHE I tried it twice in full backup and it gave me same error in two different places. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is you're running out of disc space on partition C:.

That error is coming back from TSMUXER when it attempts to multiplex. For some reason that app doesn't appear to have access to that folder -- or at least is getting an error when trying to create it.

That's really odd... maybe an access rights issue?

I doubt it, but maybe I should try putting my workfiles in a different directory, i.e. not my user folder? However, I have made succesful full backups very recently with the same setup and the movie only mode worked on the same movie.

Could you try doing the MUX from the command line? Just type in:

"c:\pathto\bd_rebuilder\tools\tsmuxer.exe" "C:\USERS\BRIAN\DOCUMENTS\BDREBUILDER\WORKFILES\mux_00262.meta"

Maybe it will give a clue as to something that might be happening. (I'm not sure what you BD Rebuilder path is).

I get message can't detect stream type. I also tried opening the same file in the tsmuxer app but that file type does not show up. I expanded to show all file types and opened it and get the same message, can't detect stream type.

Can you post the meta file? I've seen that error before for DTS Express streams, but BD-RB shouldn't be attempting to extract those...
