beyond h.264...Collection of Ideas
Dear All,
I was reading a couple of articles on improvements for h.264. I guess they can not be implemented in h.264. What I've found was 1. Alternative zig zag scans for Intra modes (%3-%5 bitrate improvement) 2. A CABAC alternative (0.5 dB improvement) 3. Several Rate distortion optimizations (Based on Cauchy distribution of the AC Coeffs.) I try to collect new methods which can not be implemented in h.264 to see how much space we have for future improvement. Can you video compression gurus contribute... |
