AviSynth crashes the second I enable it. (Windows 7 x64)

I've Googled and searched these forums for hours combined, and can't find a single thing about my problem, so hopefully somebody can help me out. Here's the issue:

I'm trying to get SVP up and running, which uses ffdshow and AviSynth to run a frame interpolation script. However, using it causes Media Player Classic to "stop working" the second I open a video file. I've narrowed the issue down to coming from AviSynth.

Going in the ffdshow config, I've tried checking/unchecking every box in the AviSynth tab to get it to not crash; even after erasing everything in the box so that no scripts run at all (just AviSynth itself), the second I tick the box to enable it, MPC immediately crashes.

Uninstalling-Reinstalling ffdshow/SVP/AviSynth/MPC/Windows 7 does nothing to fix the problem.

How do I get the damn plugin to just work without crashing as soon as it's enabled?

If you're using an old version of ffdshow it might be this problem: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.ph...19#post1433719
If so try a newer version of ffdshow.

That didn't solve the problem, but your suggestion eventually lead me towards the solution.

Thing is, SVP doesn't appear to be doing any frame smoothing at all. Even in demostration mode, I can't tell the difference. Guess that's a question for the SVP forums, though.
