That being said, while I'm not in a position to provide you the latest version I'd be happy to update a MPLS file for you if you'd like, i.e. inserting additional instances of the PlayItem so that the menu background appears to be playing on a loop. Provide me a MPLS file that contains a single PlayItem and I'll insert it 997 additional times if you like and shoot you back a copy. ![]() Last edited by Lowpro; 15th July 2023 at 05:32. |

Thanks for the offer
Howdy Lowpro, and thanks for that.
I see that the donation is an annual thing, so once I get organised and have my workflow and target sorted, I'll make a donation and get a years worth of the latest version, which could by then be a few on from now.. I don't see me getting heavily into this, as you are obviously, (where do you find the time?) and the results are testament to that. So thanks, but no thanks. [until the plan changes] I am also thinking that I may be able to make use of the existing BD authoring software that I have installed with Vegas Pro 18, [DVD Architecture v5 & v7] by using that to create the menus [using short video proxies, as you do] outputting the disc to an ISO [that's the only output option available], mounting/opening up that iso, copying the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders, opening that in BDEdit for the first instance. Meanwhile, creating a QP menu version BDMV disc with BD-RB, using the real FHD videos, then finally opening that in BDEdit and do the same sort of editing as now, BUT in reverse. ie: replacing the proxy TITLES of the BD from DVD Architecture, with real TITLES from the QP menu BD-RB disc, with BDEdit. With the intermediate step of muxing back the SUBS and CHAPTERS from the FHD BD-RB titles into the DVDA titles, which is necessary cos DVDA will ignore those streams when it creates its BD output. I'm not seeing me doing this on an industrial scale, unlike you, so shouldn't be too much work [famous last words?], considering the number of discs I expect to be re-authoring. Anyway that how things stand at present... cheers CD |

Menu options ain't doing it for me..
Hi there Lowpro
I have tried several menu options, in the INI file but they have no effect on the output.. ================================ MENU_ACTIVE_COLOR=WHITE MENU_INACTIVE_COLOR=BLUE MENU_HORIZONTAL=160 ================================ Is there a specific line or place that these need to be placed within the INI file? Is there a cache that I need to delete/refresh..? cheers CD P.S. I know I am asking a lot of Q's from you, but please don't be hassled by this.. it's not that urgent.. I have time on my hands, you may not. That's understood. UPDATE... I deleted and installed the BD-RB folder and all its components back to v0.61.28 and the text and positioning is now where I want it.. However there is a solid block around the list of titles.. MENU_ACTIVE_COLOR=WHITE MENU_INACTIVE_COLOR=BLUE MENU_HORIZONTAL=160 MENU_BACKDROP_OPACITY=150 At least I have achieved one victory today.. cheers CD Last edited by doobre; 17th July 2023 at 08:16. Thanks for that, I'm pretty sure that I had done that a few times... but still the text is now correct..
It seems to be reacting correctly now.. Are you using v0.61.28 or 29? cheers CD Last edited by doobre; 17th July 2023 at 08:43. |

Have you played wuth the OUTPUT FOLDER in hidden settings?
"OUTPUT_FOLDER=p p = Path to a folder to be used for output. e.g. OUTPUT_FOLDER=D:\OUTPUT (it must exist)" I have tried but didn't do anything for me.. Hoping it will allow a seperate folder location for the "output" away from the work folder, which contains everything used in the processing like imports, output iso and BDMV and workfiles etc.. cheers CD |

Howdy Lowpro - answering my own questions again....
I got the hang of the 'OUTPUT FOLDER' setting, which as I hoped does allow the final output to be placed in a seperate location to the work files/imports... BD-RB tells Imgburn where to place the finished ISO, for example. Also got the "black block" thing sorted, I was misunderstanding what the setting of menu backdrop actually was, didn't realise it was a seperate layer between the txt and the image of the menu. Seems that jdobbs has thought of all the 'possibles' when creating this beast.. cheers to y'all, CD |

American Detective (2021-2022)
You can never have enough Joe Kenda on Blu-ray. Just finished knocking out the below, the menus in this case mirroring the ones I created for "Homicide Hunter".

cancel that idea !
Hi Lowpro
Time to eat my words... QUOTE....."I am also thinking that I may be able to make use of the existing BD authoring software that I have installed with Vegas Pro 18, [DVD Architecture v5 & v7] by using that to create the menus [using short video proxies, as you do] outputting the disc to an ISO [that's the only output option available], mounting/opening up that iso, copying the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders, opening that in BDEdit for the first instance. Seems that the limitations of DVDA make it too much extra work, on top of the fact that muxing back into the .MTS files (subs and chapters) after creating the ISO doesn't work either. So I'm going back to static menus, processed completely through BD-RB. Using your suggested folder structure for testing the menu with the short proxy clips ahead of the full job.. I will only need the menu for a couple more discs anyway. cheers for now, CD |

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Season Four (2023)
I cataloged and authored the final season of this TV series to Blu-ray last night. Thought some might enjoy checking it out. Well, I'm still working on the Blu-ray menus. I've completed a version that utilizes the full 1920x1080 screen area. I'll be adding an alternative menu layout as well. The alternate menu layout will be confined to the aspect ratio of the presentation. Navigating left from any of the episode selections will toggle between menu layouts, the current menu layout carrying over to the POPUP MENU as well.
![]() As seen from My Movies for Windows Media Center... ![]() (Click on the image above to view my online profile for this title.) __________________________________ EPISODES: ![]() (The current episode is selected by default. Navigating up from the first item wraps around to the last item and vice versa. When activating an item a prompt is displayed if playback can be resumed, the options given to "Begin Playback" of the selected episode or "Resume Playback" from where you left off.) SETUP: ![]() (The "Setup" options are accessed by navigating "Right" at any time, then navigating "Up/Down" to access the given option. Pressing "OK" toggles your selection "On/Off". Navigating "Left" takes you back to your previous selection. And no, the "Play All" option does not follow the traditional implementation. It simply determines what happens when a given episode finishes playing. If the "Play All" option is "On" the next episode immediately plays, otherwise you're taken back to the TOP MENU instead.) RESUME: ![]() (Playback of the selected episode begins immediately if there's no resume point. If there's a resume point the above prompt is given instead, the "Resume Playback" option being selected by default if the episode selected is the same episode that can be resumed.) ![]() (The resume prompt is always displayed if there's a resume point available. In the above example playback of "Episode 1" can be resumed. Selecting "Begin Playback" starts playback of "Episode 3" from the beginning. Selecting "Resume Playback" resumes playback of "Episode 1". In this scenario "Begin Playback" is selected by default.) __________________________________ ALTERNATE MENU LAYOUT I've since completed the alternate menu layout which confines the TOP MENU and POPUP MENU to the aspect ratio of the presentation. This ensures that no part of the Blu-ray menus are obscured when my black velvet projector screen masking is deployed. Navigating left from any of the episode selections will toggle between menu layouts. Pics of the TOP MENU shown below. ![]() EPISODES (PAGE 1): ![]() (The current episode is selected by default. Well, this was originally the alternate version of the POPUP MENU. In the end I decided the below version was the only one needed. The TOP MENU still offers the two different menu layouts though. Navigating down from the last item takes you to the first item of Page 2. ) EPISODES (PAGE 2): ![]() (The current episode is selected by default. M3gan (2023)
I own both cuts of this film. Decided just for fun to work up a simple Blu-ray menu for selecting between the "Theatrical" and "Unrated" versions. I included the ability to resume playback as well not that I would ever need to. End result shown below.

Special Ops: Lioness (2023)
I just finished creating Blu-ray menus for this TV series. The 8 episodes will be spread out across 2 discs in this case. Disc 1 has been completed which contains "Episodes 1-4". Disc 2 will contain "Episodes 5-8" once the remaining episodes drop. End result for Disc 1 shown below.
As seen from My Movies for Windows Media Center... ![]() (Click on the image above to view my online profile for this title.) As seen from my Blu-ray player... ![]() (Click on the preview image above to view the full size image.) The Blu-ray menu here mirrors the same basic layout and functionality as all the other Blu-ray menus I've been creating lately. I figure why fix what isn't broken. Just haven't been in the mood to change things up so. And as always, to accommodate my physical projector screen masking I confined the Blu-ray menu (graphically) to the aspect ratio of the presentation, 2.00:1 in this case. Gotta love it! ![]() __________________________________ I've since authored the remaining episodes to Blu-ray. Eye candy provided below of the Top Menu for Disc 2. ![]() ![]() (Click on the preview image above to view the full size image.) __________________________________ I created Blu-ray cover art for this TV series as well, the front portion being included with my Blu-ray menu backgrounds. Feel free to download a copy and check it out if you like. Special Ops: Lioness (2023) ![]() (Click on the preview image above to view the full size image.) For additional details on the above cover art see my Blu-ray.com forum post, here. If/when this TV series is released on Blu-ray I'll be updating the UPC, "Special Features" and such on the back portion accordingly. Last edited by Lowpro; 11th September 2023 at 07:02. |

Changing the menu font
Hi there, If like me you were not seeing a change in the font used in the QP menu after adding the corresponding line from the hidden options list > "MENU_FONT=s"
s = Any legal font name supported on your computer. Font used for Quick menus. default=Arial I had tried "ARLRDBD.TTF"or "Arial Rounded MT Bold", "base05.otf" or "Base 05 Regular" and "micross.ttf" or "Microsoft Sans Serif Regular" to no avail.. Trial and error found that you must use the name of the font from the 'PREVIEW' window for that font, once you have selected it in the C:\Windows\Fonts\ folder and right-clicked "Preview". see attached.. cheers CD |
