Good capture card for PAL analog source
Hi, I live in Brazil and im planning to buy a TV-Card for my HTPC. My main problem is that all the cards sold on ebay / amazon like the HauppaugeŽ ones are NTSC, and I need a PAL-M card.
My question here is: Is there any way to buy a good PAL TV-Card in the US (hauppauge or not)? If not, will the Hauppauge NTSC cards (like the PVR-150) work here in Brazil? FYI: Im going to use the card with MediaPortal or even MediaCenter |

It doesn't matter, my old TV-card (a Pinnacle PCTV Studio Rave) handles all possible PAL formats, even PAL60 (I know that because you can have a PAL60 signal from the PlayStation 2 if the game supports it). I don't see why "newer" cards wouldn't (I've known of the PVR150 since my early capture days).

I wouldn't be 100% confident that everything supports everything. Try asking fellow enthusiasts in a local forum to be sure. Given the potential compatibility problems to be solved, I bet there is a local video forum in your country + language. (You can certainly find many video people discussing and complaining about it in Argentina). Cheers, David. |
