Download an uncompressed Youtube video from Google servers
How Can I, if I can, download some video that is in Youtube, but without Youtube extreme compression and/or less color subsampling?

How do you know they keep the original source on their servers? And why should they make it available for download?
Youtube doesn't offer any "official" way to download clips at all. Tools that let you to "download" clips from Youtube just request a stream like the Youtube player would do - and then they dump the data. As far as I remember, you can't even download your own clips from your Youtube profile. Let alone other people's clips...

the content provider has acess to orginals i think, but mere mortals like us has to use something like youtube-dl
