Flickering elements around the subtitles
Hello! Subtitles in Media Player Classic are being displayed with some flickering rectangles on the background (see attachments or this link: https://imgur.com/a/JxoEdsA).
Why does it happen and how can I fix it? Operating system is Windows 10 Home. |

Rectangles are sometimes used where some character is 'unknown' [does not have any representation, in fonts and such), I imagine that they [rectangles] could be used in subtitling too, perhaps some character encoding problem.
EDIT: Attachments still pending.

All characters in subtitles appear as normal characters, they are recognized, but some flickering stuff appears around them. |

Sorry, I did not see your Imgur link.
No, those are not the rectangular thingies that I was talking about, no idea what that is, I've never seen anything like them. Maybe you can give some clue as to Subtitling software, so that others may be able to assist. Also, does it do same in eg PotPlayer ? [if not then maybe MPC-HC prob].

In Microsoft Movies & TV and in VLC media player the bug doesn't appear. Changing MPC subtitles settings didn't help though. |

Dont think I can help, but suggest post link to the subs file.
[Maybe MPC-HC devs (or others) would like to look at it]

This seems to be a bug in your current Intel driver. Update the driver.
If that does not solve it, then change the video renderer in MPC-HC. Use EVR-CP or madVR instead of MPCVR. But first press Ctrl+J to show renderer debug overlay and make a screenshot. Post that in the MPC-BE topic, maybe the devs can fix it in case the bug is in MPCVR instead of the driver. |

That driver is 6 months old. Latest one is from two weeks ago:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...10-DCH-Drivers Also check the Windows 10 display settings to see if you can change it to 8-bit bit depth. |

As for bit depth, it is 6-bit. I searched how to change it, it is said I should change adapter mode to 32-bit, but my adapter mode is already 1920*1080, True color (32 bit), 60 Hz. |

Solved! My fault - I tried only renderers available by default and didn't instal the MadVR mentioned above. When I downloaded and installed it, the bug disappeared (yet I still don't know what it was). Thanks to everybody who paid attention!
