Good day Sirber, you made very useful tool. Thank you.
I'm using RealAnime 6 from 25.09.07 with encoders update. It works very well, and still is unmatched by rival tools. I'm not saying it's bug free, mind you, but I did encode much files with it. I hope your effort will not just get lost, and RA or Bencos will get their well deserved development. Or, if you decide to resign, at least knowledge will reincarnate in some successor program. In the meantime, I put here some feedback. Videos at 120 fps I'd prefer to downsample to 24 or 30 fps, but with RA6 I can't. Also there are videos at what seems to be variable fps 24/30, which are encoded by RA6 as 120 fps result. Sometimes RA6 crashes at various points. I've noticed this is GUI crash. Encoders continue to work till the end of current job and next job does not start. The crash occurs when showing the window from system tray or when switching tabs. It seems like various actions in GUI "accumulate" chance to crash. The less I medde with it, the less it crashes. Keeping the most active first tab in background also helps. That was some feedback. One more time, thank you for your tool. |

Hi Veterinar!
I'm glad you like the tools! Unfortunatly I haven't played with them for more than a year now. If you want to play with the code I'd suggest you grab bencos and lazarus (free pascal IDE) since bencos is more complete than RA6. I can help you a bit to get started but I won't code on those projects anymore. Regards, Sirber |

even with the latest Lazarus, bencos fails on Vista and Windows 7. I did a search installing older version and from the first one (BENCOS_20061223.exe) to BENCOS_20070430.exe, they all run perfectly. Starting BENCOS_20070505.exe, I get a popup "A reference was returned from the server." and it fails. I'll try to make a new project file and copy / paste the code. I think my project file is corrupt or have bad settings, but they look good to me. I compiled an empty project and it ran perfectly.
in the meantime you can grab the latest binaries here: http://sites.google.com/a/detritus.qc.ca/realanime/ stay tuned! |

I'm regiving a try with csharp (.NET 3.5). In 2005-6 I tryed with xAnime, to learn the language, but I didn't like it and launhcing process and managing them was hellish.

Also very nice to see HD settings. HD is getting common these days, and I will admit - I always download the 720p encodes. They always look better. Quote:
Still, it should be interesting to see if you can find some settings to further compress downloaded HD encodes today... |

Delphi 7 and later versions are a pain to use on W7 (or vista) because they are too old. I'll have to ask help for the settings, I'm really rusty with those, even for SD

And yet the two languages had their design lead by the same person. Why is his work now a "devil language" just cause he works for Microsoft? Secondly, many parts of the ECMA standard were designed by people who didn't even work for Microsoft (HP, Intel, etc).

I would not call it that...

I know it is a standardized language, too, but I call it Microsoft's devil language because it is pretty much what Microsoft wants everyone to use and it is what you hear and see all about today. Always C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#, C#. And besides, it is all about the language, and the creators. IOW, I would not care even if Bjarne himself was involved in C#. It would still be a devil language in my eyes. Last edited by Eretria-chan; 1st October 2009 at 20:43. |
