What type of pulldown did this video use?
I'm digitizing some old family VHS tapes. Normally, they're pretty straightforward: interlaced NTSC. But this one's interesting. It was film previously transferred to VHS. I'm going to see if I can find the original film because the quality isn't great.
This was shot in the US. I assume it was on Super 8. There was no sound, but it could be a bad VHS transfer. I expected the framerate to be 18fps, but the pulldown appears (please double check) to be 3:3. I expected 3:3:4. Was this just a camera pointed at a screen? Other ideas? Also, what's the best tool for IVTC on poor-quality footage with an unusual pulldown? Some of the redundant frames definitely look better than others. https://be9026001c9a4132-8046ba3cf66...om/output.webm |
